This past weekend I had the opportunity to have 10 little girls in my kitchen for a day of cooking. I teach an American History class for our homeschooling co-op using the American Girls book series. We are currently reading the Felicity series so we cooked 18th century style, well as close as we could in my modern kitchen.
On the menu for the day:
Sourdough bread
Apple Butter
Dressed Eggs
Breakfast Puffs
Johnny Cakes
Whipped Syllabub
The girls were so happy to be in charge of the food. They devoured every single crumb. It was a total success. There should have been pictures of the whole feast but the little vultures ascended a little too quickly. Maybe next time.
